Disability planning

Unfortunately, in life one never quite knows what cards you are going to be dealt... Life could be going swimmingly only for you to be dealt the harsh card of a temporary or permanent disability.

Quite obviously no one wants to pick one of those cards out of the deck. Unfortunately, these cards tend to have a habit of being dealt at the most unexpected times and can bring about the most devastating consequences. Far too many of the bad cards in the deck of life, such as becoming disabled, can come with severe financial implications too, just to add insult to injury.

One might think, well that’s most unfortunate for those who are confronted with a disability, but that will never happen to me… According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), disability is way more prevalent than one might think:

  1. Around 15% of the world’s population is estimated to live with a disability or experience a disability in their lifetime;

  2. The number of people living with disabilities are dramatically increasing. This is due to demographic trends and increases in chronic health conditions, among other causes; and

  3. Almost everyone is likely to experience some form of disability – temporary or permanent – at some point in life.

The above is only referring to the physical/mental implications of a disability. Often the financial implications brought about remain long after the disability may be gone. For example, people who overcome a temporary disability more often than not, do so at such a great financial cost that they live with a financial disability for the rest of their lives.

Thus, I put it to you, do you have a plan in place to assist you in the event that you become either temporarily or permanently disabled? Do you have a joker up your sleeve to counter these bad cards if they are dealt to you.

Contact me today so that we can craft a plan to provide for you, and your family, in the event of your disability.
